Hailing from one of the toughest neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, Englewood, Boi fLOYD aims to create relatable, quality music that promotes positivity even from a dark place. Raised by his beloved grandmother, whom he attributes much of his discipline and passion for people, he felt an obligation to take care of everyone, by any means necessary. It was not until Boi fLOYD experienced a near death encounter and realized he wanted to work to create a better, safer environment for his family to have a chance at a more fulfilling, less risky lifestyle.

One of Boi fLOYD main goals is to partner with other communities and youth advocates to build a center for the creative arts in Chicago, that will cater to underserved neighborhoods. He holds to a quote from his grandmother like a personal mantra: “In order to be different, you have to be yourself” and that is exactly what he aims to do with his music. Boi fLOYD not only wants to show a different side of his creativity but brand himself as the rose that grew from the concrete.
